OVERVIEW

Teralon is a visual content agency based in south west London. From branding and content strategy to production and distribution, we create cinematic visual content (including film, photography, animation, motion graphics, and live streamed content) that makes our clients look really REALLY good online. We work with a range of clients from local corporate and creative companies in London to global sports organisations and international tourism brands.

We are looking for an ambitious junior video editor to join our growing in-house team.

The role requires creativity, technical knowledge and professionalism. You will be working under our senior editor’s lead on a wide range of projects. These may include social media content films, corporate communication videos, branded content films, and mini documentaries.

As you build your confidence, skills, and portfolio, you’ll expand into managing full projects from media handover, through delivery and client feedback rounds, to project sign-off. We will count on you to maintain strong partnerships with directors, producers, DoPs, clients, and other editors to deliver final exports on time and on brief.

You should have a basic level of editing experience and have shown evidence of putting this to work in a professional or semi-professional setting. The ideal candidate will know how to use editing software and be familiar with camera settings such as resolution, aspect ratios, picture profiles, frame rates, and codecs.

You will be required to communicate in a clear, professional, service oriented manner with our clients, anticipating their concerns, translating their requirements, and bringing their requests to life on screen. As a junior video editor, we will be invested in your growth and well-being. Working closely with you, we want to help you expand your skillset and deliver bigger and better work. We will help train you in the use of After Effects, Premiere, motion graphics, as well as investing in training opportunities. What we want from you in return is commitment, creativity and to bring your love for the art and craft of editing to our table.

The job is a full-time (40 hours per week) contract. The job will be mostly be in-office with core hours of 10am to 5:30pm. On occasion, you might also be invited on set for real time editing in collaboration with directors and clients. There is also flexibility for the occasional work from home day as well, if needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take responsibility as the main editor on client projects and videos
  • Liaise with clients to apply any feedback they have on first and subsequent cuts
  • Ensure data management is well maintained: edit drives are regularly backed up, archive drives are in good order, memory cards are offloaded correctly and clearly stored separately from hot cards
  • Help support our lead editor’s workflow by preparing projects for editing, including categorising footage, choosing selects, syncing audio and creating rough cuts
  • Maintain Teralon’s exported assets catalogues (locally and online)
  • Edit mini showreels, social content and Behind The Scenes content for Teralon’s in-house marketing use

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, QUALITIES

Experience:

  • Some previous editing work experience required, either on a volunteer, freelance, or in-house basis

Skills:

  • An eye for (visual) detail
  • Evidence of a creative and artistic portfolio of either personal or professional projects
  • Mac user
  • Experience with Premiere Pro (intermediate)
  • Experience with After Effects (basic)
  • Knowledge of other NLEs such as FCPX or Resolve are a bonus
  • Basic knowledge of working with audio
  • Knowledge of Photoshop & Lightroom is also a bonus
  • Basic knowledge of camera settings (resolution, aspect ratios, picture profiles, frame rates, and codecs)
  • Knowledge of social media requirements (resolutions, aspect ratios, framerates, safe areas)
  • An ear for selecting the right music for the right edits

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • £23,000 to £26,000
